About Me

I believe in education, opportunities, and new beginnings! My name is Aliris Alicea. Years ago, I discovered that I needed a chance to feel in touch with people. My opportunity arrived, and I got connected with my vocation. Today, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I completed a Doctorate Degree in Counseling from the University of Puerto Rico. Through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), I obtained the credential of National Certified Counselor (NCC) and the Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). Some of the training that I have completed include Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy; Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, among others. I am also a Certified Disaster Mental Health Volunteer for the Red Cross. Helping others is my passion!

For the past 20 years, I’ve been connected with the military. I hold a vast amount of knowledge and experience handling challenges in this area. I have been able to work on different projects in Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Puerto Rico. I provide counseling services to children, adolescents, women, men, couples, and families for different needs and challenges like mental health diagnoses, family interactions, anger management, marital conflicts, reunification, trauma, and behavior modification.

I desire to promote the benefits of healthy wellbeing as a core point for a better life. We can’t change the past, but we could work today for a new beginning while building better future opportunities!
